Past studies have shown a substantial overlap between irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This study investigated the prevalence of DCPR-revised (DCPR-R) syndromes in patients with IBS alone those overlapping IBS-GERD. We also explored relationship these various psychological scales. In total, 341 from Chinese cohort completed GerdQ scale series questionnaires. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to evaluate DCPR-R, as well scores on Psychosocial Index (PSI), Psychosomatic Symptom Scale (PSSS), World Health Organization (WHO)-5 Well-being Index, Euthymia Scale, Patient Questionnaire-9, 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale. Compared alone, IBS-GERD had significantly higher DCPR-R syndromes, particularly areas such demoralization, persistent somatization, despair-related hypochondriasis, phobia, anniversary reaction, thanatophobia, conversion symptoms. Patients two or more types likely exhibit disorders. WHO-5 PSI well-being predictive syndromes. For IBS-GERD, PSSS score was an independent predictor. highlights key differences psychosomatic factors The scales offer valuable tools for diagnosing assessing differences.
