Incorrect sensor readings can cause serious problems in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), potentially disrupting the operation of entire system. As shown literature, they arise from various reasons; therefore, addressing this issue has been a significant challenge for scientific community over past few decades. In paper, we examine applicability seven distributed consensus gossip-based algorithms fusion (namely, Randomized Gossip algorithm, Geographic three initial configurations Broadcast Push-Sum protocol, and Push-Pull protocol) to compensate incorrect data WSNs. More specifically, consider scenario where sensor-measured (measured by set independent nodes) are skewed due Gaussian noise with standard deviation σ, resulting discrepancies between measured values true value observed physical quantities. Subsequently, aforementioned employed mitigate skewness order improve accuracy data. WSNs modeled as random geometric graphs connectivity, performance is evaluated using two metrics (specifically, mean square error (MSE) number sent messages required an algorithm be completed). Based on presented results, it identified that all examined significantly suppress (MSE without = −0.42 dB if σ 1, MSE 14.05 5), best achieved PS dense GG sparse (both achieve maximum precision −24.87 1 −21.02 5). Additionally, analyzed gossip compared deterministic applied same purpose.
