Ancistrocerus shibuyai (Yasumatsu, 1938), stat. restit. was hitherto considered a subspecies of A. trifasciatus (Müller, 1776) distributed in Russia (Eastern Siberia, Far East), Mongolia, China (North-East), Korean Peninsula, and Japan, while known to have nearly trans-Palaearctic distribution. Due minor but distinct morphological differences between trifasciatus, the former one is hereby recognized as separate species. Based on extensive material examined, shown be widely boreal zone Palaearctic region; particularly, species recorded for first time from Austria, Ukraine, European part Russia, Urals, Western Kazakhstan. var. moeschleri Blüthgen, 1938, syn. nov. balticus Budrys & Orlovskytė, 2023, are synonymized with shibuyai. Distribution biology both briefly discussed. A lectotype designated Odynerus orientalis Kostylev, 1938.

The genus Euodynerus Dalla Torre, 1904 (= Extraepipona Gusenleitner, 2014, syn. nov.; occultus (Gusenleitner, 2014), comb. nov.) is revised in Europe and the Maghreb, combining morphological data DNA barcoding. New synonymies are proposed for E. (Pareuodynerus) Blüthgen, 1938 (Incolepipona) Giordani Soika, 1994, nov.), annae (Kostylev, 1937) shirazensis 1970, caspicus (Morawitz, 1873) armeniacus 2016, curictensis 1940 sardous Borsato, 2006, dantici (Rossi, 1790) poggii 1986, = minoricensis Sanza, 2003, quadrifasciatus (Fabricius, 1793) atripes 1976, rufipes 1984, eburnus Yamane, 1987, rubrosignatus stat. nov. notatus cyrenaicus variegatus Odynerus crenatus kruegeri von Schulthess, 1928, nov.). 1984 raised to species-level (E. rubrosignatus, bidentoides (Giordani 1953), sp. resurr. removed from synonymy with bidentiformis 1942). bidentatus (Lepeletier, 1841) transferred subgenus Pareuodynerus s. str. The identity of Odynerus spiricornis Spinola, 1808 is discussed, revealing a long history misinterpretations surrounding this name and some the other taxa included in genus Paragymnomerus Blüthgen, 1938. Three species are recognized southern Europe: P. discoidalis (de Saussure, 1856), sp. resurr. et comb. nov. (= auct.), dusmeti 1962, (Spinola, 1808) amitinorum 1952, syn. nov.). subspecies turanicus (Kostylev, 1940) raised to species-level (P. stat. rugulosus Rudow, 1876 designated as nomen dubium. An illustrated key for identification South European provided. Lectotypes de 1856 var. iberica Dusmet, 1909.

Iraq is a large country in the Middle East region bordering countries known to host rich fauna of Vespidae, especially subfamilies Eumeninae and Masarinae. Still, its vespid severely understudied poorly known, with only 38 species recorded so far, sparse bibliography. Based on new specimens collected Duhok Governorate (Iraqi Kurdistan) during expeditions that occurred May June 2023 2024, critical revision previous records, revised total 62 for presented, including one newly described species, namely Euodynerus (Pareuodynerus) garaensis Selis, sp. n., 32 first time. mavromoustakisi Giordani Soika, 1970 syn. n. synonymised under E. (Euodynerus) velutinus Blüthgen, 1951, Polistes atrimandibularis albidus 1957 confirmed as synonym Zimmermann, 1930. The subspecies Leptochilus mimulus turcicus Gusenleitner Bytinski-Salz Gusenleitner, 1971 raised rank (Leptochilus stat. n.), Odynerus armeniacus (Morawitz, 1885) rest. returned rank. genus Intereuodynerus 1997 Syneuodynerus 1951.
