This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of candesartan combined with music therapy on diabetic retinopathy depression and assess molecular mechanisms. Associated animal model diabetes mellitus was established in rats. Pathological changes hippocampus were detected by haematoxylin eosin (H&E) staining. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) used detect retinal cell apoptosis. Angiotensin II (Ang II) peripheral blood neurotransmitters, including serotonin (5-HT), dopamine (DA), norepinephrine (NE) hippocampus, measured enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fluorescence quantitative PCR western blotting expression brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) c-fos hippocampus. Our data showed that chromatin aggregation cytoplasmic vacuolation observable hippocampal cells rats group, while could reduce morphological depression. Compared control apoptosis significantly higher, contents 5-HT, DA, NE lower, Ang level BDNF decreased group. By contrast, or + ameliorated retina apoptosis, reduction increase AII, BDNF. Especially, further improved neurotransmitter release In conclusion, have an additive effect DM both visual impairment depression, which might serve a potential alternative treatment for this complex disease.

Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence anxiety and depression on clinician decision-making in patients suffering from chronic eye disease ophthalmological clinical practice. Design setting This multicentre observational study, collaboration with WHO, included ophthalmologists their affected by disease. States were screened specific questionnaires, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), self-administered before visit. In present analysis, we report data three major care centres Italy between 2021 2022. Primary secondary outcomes To assess self-reported changes ophthalmologists’ approach (communication style clinical-therapeutic strategies) decisions after knowing questionnaire scores (primary aim), analyse PHQ-9 GAD-7 diseases (secondary aim). Results 41 359 included. results showed critical status (PHQ-9 ≥5 ≥10) 258 patients. 74% cases, no actions taken based these scores; 26% they changed approach; 14% referred for psychological/psychiatric evaluation. Conclusions affect many conditions need be detected managed early improve patients’ well-being. Providing knowledge psychological can change management attitude towards referral a Further studies are needed expand our how raise awareness among regarding multimorbidity order achieve better outcomes.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the impact of anxiety and sleep patterns on intravitreal injection pain. PATIENTS METHODS: This prospective, noninterventional study surveyed patients scheduled for by two retinal surgeons. A standard technique was used. Patients filled out pre-procedure General Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires. Post-procedural pain assessed with a visual analogue scale. hours levels were correlated perceived RESULTS: total 140 met inclusion criteria. Mean ± deviation scores 4.9 5.6 GAD-7, 6.3 4.1 PSQI, 3.69 2.64 (rho = 0.25; P .003). Previous night's −0.16; .057) poor quality 0.14; .11) weakly correlated. Regression analysis revealed only significant predictor 1-point increase in predicted 0.10-point (B 0.10, .032). CONCLUSIONS: level best has implications pre-procedural screening.
