This article examines the roles of commercial agents in driving wave emigration from Hong Kong since 2019. Human outflows recent years have been supported by a booming migration industry involving property agents, education consultants, financial planners, and tax advisors—the “PEFTs”—whose activities effects on processes underappreciated public discourses. Abstract This study examines the relationship between political attitudes, affective polarization, and fertility preferences among married couples in Hong Kong. Using dyadic data from a representative household survey (N = 1586 heterosexually adults), we investigate how individuals’ attitudes toward democracy levels of polarization are associated with their preferences. Diaspora movements are campaigns launched by migrant minorities who maintain allegiance to their homelands. This article investigates the recent mobilization of Hongkonger, Thai, Burmese, and Ukrainian diasporas in Taiwan understand factors behind tactical choices. While existing literature pays more attention protester-government interaction how movement leaders decide on strategy, we contend that certain pre-existing characteristics diaspora communities matter more. Abstract This study examines migration intentions in a politically divided context, focusing on the interactive roles of individuals’ and spouses’ affective polarization political attitudes. Our uses Hong Kong as case to elucidate context increasing authoritarianism.
