The exponential increase in plastic production over the past few decades has led to a corresponding surge level of waste generation. Despite efforts recycle, growth recycling not kept pace with amount generated, resulting significant environmental burden. Conventional management strategies have considerable drawbacks. This necessitated exploration alternative methods for efficient and sustainable management. Pyrolysis emerged as promising solution converting into valuable liquid fuels. In this paper, effect catalyst on yield product distribution is assessed, comparative study products obtained from pyrolysis polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), mixed plastics conducted. oils are analyzed terms their composition physical properties compared conventional fuels such diesel petrol. oil yields were significantly influenced by presence catalyst, ranging 62 73% products, depending feedstock use. Chemical analysis revealed hydrocarbon distributions C5 C24, saturated hydrocarbons constituting up 25% total unsaturated 20%. Physical property showed that oil's specific gravity (0.73–0.82), calorific values (35–41 MJ/kg), flash point (37–45 °C), pour (−9 −5 °C) closely aligned those diesel, suggesting its potential commercial alternative. Comparative evaluation demonstrated adaptability use an fuel source. findings show similar diesel.

Food waste is a chronic and ongoing environmental, economic, social problem in the European Union. The study will examine trends food from 2021 to 2023, sectoral effects, regional heterogeneity, socio-economic determinants of intensity. Interlinking longitudinal data Statista Eurostat, statistical modeling, cluster analysis are employed by uncover across member states EU. research shows that domestic wastage remains leading one, accounting for 50–60% total Inefficiencies manufacturing retail identified as important drivers generation high-waste nations such Cyprus Denmark because inefficiencies processes result increased generation. Spain Croatia have continued record low per capita owing good management policies consumer practices. Regression identifies wastage, waste, main with GDP (Gross Domestic Product) carbon footprint playing weak roles. Cluster places EU countries into three groups: low-waste highly structured systems, moderately-waste where at levels prevails, there inefficiency production, processing, consumption levels. These findings necessitate specific interventions. Policy needs address minimization household level via awareness behavior change initiatives remove value chains through simplification inventory management, redistribution chains, incentive regulation. Regional, rather than one-size-fits-all, EU-wide policy required order achieve significant progress.

ABSTRACT The packaging sector is the primary contributor to plastic waste due prevalence of disposable packaging. Although there extensive literature on sustainable single‐use packaging, studies reusable biomaterials and their compliance with food contact regulations remain scarce. This study aimed investigate physicochemical properties polylactic acid‐based bioplastics reinforced various degradable additives, glass fibers, calcium carbonates, designed for repeated‐use applications such as cutlery rigid crates. All samples were tested overall specific migration in accordance European Union regulations, material analyzed. results demonstrated that materials provided values below limits, although some instabilities did not provide them full compliance. In terms mechanical performance, exhibited a deterioration after simulants, limiting potential repeated use. contrast, crates high resistance degradation, maintaining over time.
