The use of generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI) to assist college students in their studies has become a trend. However, there is no academic consensus on whether Gen-AI can enhance the achievement students. Using meta-analytic approach, this study aims investigate effectiveness improving and explore effects different moderating variables. A total 28 articles (65 independent studies, 1909 participants) met inclusion criteria for study. results showed that significantly improved students’ with medium effect size (Hedges’s g = 0.533, 95% CI [0.408,0.659], p < .05). There were within-group differences three moderator variables, activity categories, sample size, generated content, when content was text ( 0.554, .05), 21–40 0.776, learning styles 0.600, .05) had most significant improvement student’s achievement. intervention duration, discipline types, assessment tools also moderate positive impact achievement, but any This provides theoretical basis empirical evidence scientific application development educational technology policy.

Scholars are increasingly using generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, like ChatGPT, in research, though concerns remain about ethics, data privacy, bias, and intellectual property. This study adopts a design science research approach to explore how AI chatbots can support academic teaching bridging theory practice. A literature review expert interviews identified key requirements principles that virtues such as uniqueness, generalizability, reproducibility. We also introduce prototype, “AcademiaBot,” demonstrate these action. Our findings suggest significantly aid scholarly work if users informed ethical addressed. Responsible usage help augment human efforts without compromising integrity. provides valuable knowledge, ensuring AI-based beneficial tool for scholars.

Notwithstanding the growing advantages of incorporating Augmented Reality (AR) in science education, pedagogical use AR combined with Pedagogical Agents (PAs) remains underexplored. Additionally, few studies have examined integration Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) into education to create GAI-enhanced PAs (GPAs) that enrich learning experiences. To address these gaps, this study designed and implemented a GPA-enhanced 5E model within environments scaffold students’ learning. A mixed-methods design was conducted investigate effectiveness proposed approach on academic achievement, cognitive load, their perceptions GPAs as aids through using model. Sixty sixth-grade students from two complete classes were randomly assigned either an experimental group engaged or control followed traditional method. The findings revealed significantly improved achievement decreased load. Furthermore, reported positive method during lessons. offer valuable insights for instructional designers educators who leverage advanced educational technologies support aligned constructivist principles.
