The global demand for rubber is on a steady rise, which driven by the increasing production of automobiles and growing need industrial, medical, household products. This surge in has led to significant increase waste, posing major environmental challenge. End-of-life tire (ELT) primary source possesses hazards due its massive stockpiles. While landfilling low-cost easy-to-implement solution, it now largely prohibited concerns. Recently, ELT waste garnered considerable attention potential applications civil engineering construction. These not only enhance sustainability but also foster circular economy between construction sectors. review article concentrates recent research progress challenges waste. It discusses commercially available recycled rubber-based materials, their properties, testing standards, certification. To best authors' knowledge, this first time such discussion commercial products been presented.

Asphalt pavements in high-altitude and seasonally frozen regions of China encounter significant challenges that impact their stability durability. This study aims to evaluate the performance modified crumb rubber (MCR) asphalt mixtures under typical conditions seasonal regions, specifically focusing on effects ultraviolet (UV) exposure freeze–thaw cycling. Laboratory tests were designed simulate UV irradiation cycling mixtures, then a series conducted pre-treated mixture specimens investigate including cohesion, high-temperature stability, low-temperature cracking resistance, water fatigue resistance. The MCR tested comparison Styrene–Butadiene–Styrene (SBS) conventional mixtures. test results indicated MCR-modified exhibited better cohesion than other Under aging conditions, it showed relatively slow degradation rate due its unique composition mitigates stress sensitivity. Also, when subjected cycling, incorporation particles resulted delayed micro-crack propagation self-healing effect, thus mitigating compared findings suggest is promising alternative for improving durability pavement regions.

Abstract This Assessment Update by the Environmental Effects Panel (EEAP) of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) addresses interacting effects changes in stratospheric ozone, solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and climate on environment human health. These include new modelling studies that confirm benefits Montreal Protocol protecting ozone layer its role maintaining a stable climate, both at low high latitudes. We also provide an update projected levels UV-radiation during twenty-first century. Potential environmental consequences intervention scenarios are briefly discussed, illustrating large uncertainties of, for example, Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). Modelling predict that, although SAI would cool Earth’s surface, other factors be affected, including depletion precipitation patterns. Abstract Renewable chemicals, which are made from renewable resources such as biomass, have attracted significant interest substitutes for natural gas‐ or petroleum‐derived chemicals to enhance the sustainability of chemical and petrochemical industries. Polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT), is a copolyester 1,4‐butanediol (1,4‐BDO), adipic acid (AA), dimethyl (DMT) terephthalic (TPA), has garnered biodegradable polymer. This study assesses non‐biological production PBAT monomers biomass feedstocks via heterogeneous catalytic reactions. The biomass‐based routes each monomer analyzed compared conventional routes. Although no fully commercialized processes direct conversion into 1,4‐BDO, AA, DMT, TPA available, emerging promising been proposed. proposed pathways toward not yet competitive with fossil fuel‐based mainly due high feedstock prices existence other alternatives. However, given continuous technological advances in monomers, bio‐based should be economically viable near future.

Polymer waste is currently a big and challenging issue throughout the world. Waste tires represent an important source of polymer waste. Therefore, it highly desirable to recycle functional fillers from develop composite materials for advanced applications. The primary theme this review involves overview developing polystyrene (PS) composites using recycled as fillers; tire recycling in terms ground rubbers, carbon black, textile fibers; surface treatments optimize various properties; mechanical, fire retarding, acoustic, electromagnetic field (EMI) shielding performances PS materials. development provides novel avenue achieve reductions emission goals closed-loop plastic recycling, which significance circular economics environmentally friendly society.
