An emerging literature has begun to explore the acculturation of majority-group members within increasingly diverse societies. Given inherent power asymmetries and ethnic hierarchies that usually favor majority groups, it becomes critical examine their process through lens dynamics. Central this examination is determining when a group's adoption cultures from other groups (e.g., ethnocultural minorities who are indigenous or have history forced voluntary migration) constitutes cultural appropriation versus genuine change. In paper, we argue evident exploit elements less powerful against will, often for material symbolic gains, without providing proper credit demonstrating deeper understanding culture.
