This paper reports on preliminary observations of an investigation flows associated with models that mimic serrations the leading edge barn owl feathers. The objective was to use particle image velocimetry measurements determine capacity singular and multiple curved (three-dimensional) serration modify noise-reducing indicators a narrow-channeled flow past cylinder. Four were tested: 3 respective angles inclination, α = 24°, 27.5° 31°, model consisting array 31°. Each case subjected Reynolds number (based height maximum velocity flow) ∼2,000, simulating regime local around barbs real flights. A planar technique used capture midspan plane velocities effects each model. results show using inclination than 30° may lead disorganized spatial structures enhanced turbulence levels. On other hand, only different geometries can structure into well-ordered one, resulting in 50% reduction intensities. These initial suggest under complex conditions, insertion single significant changes result potential noise modifications.
