Purpose This study aims to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of a mobile application, ValTO, designed enhance communication professional reasoning skills in occupational therapy students through case-based learning approach. Design/methodology/approach A descriptive exploratory was conducted with 32 second-year students. The app assessed using Mobile Application Rating Scale System Usability Scale, complemented by University Oviedo’s Learning Satisfaction Survey. Findings majority (77.8%) rated above average on 50% scoring it as excellent. scores revealed high ratings across functionality, aesthetics information quality, significant correlation between user satisfaction. Increased student satisfaction also observed Survey compared previous years. Originality/value ValTO integrates modern health tools into education, enhancing students’ decision-making an innovative, real-world context. contributes growing body research applications educational settings, demonstrating their potential improve both engagement outcomes.

Telehealth was widely adopted in pediatric occupational therapy practice during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, there is limited knowledge on telehealth use post-pandemic. This study collected 132 responses to a mixed-methods survey from March-October 2023 explore therapists’ current and perceptions telehealth. This multi-methods study describes the development of a pediatric rehabilitation telehealth intervention fidelity checklist, estimates its inter-rater reliability, and documents raters' implementation experience.
