Objective: Self-medication prevalence and characteristics during the ongoing pandemic have been assessed documented in some countries for COVID-19 treatment; little is known of this practice among pharmacy students who are estimated to higher knowledge medications their use. This study aims assess self-medication pattern population. Materials Methods: following IRB approval, a descriptive, cross-sectional was implemented, survey link distributed enrolled at King Abdulaziz University, from 1/1/2021 17/2/2021. Questionnaire items included (1) students’ demographic, (2) pandemic, (3) medications, vitamins supplements used (pre post infection), (4) source information, (5) how long they medication for. Results: A total 270 completed (39.9% response rate). Majority were between 21–23 years age (63.7%), female (70%), single (97%). 149 (55.2%) practiced pandemic. Most vitamin C (38.9%), followed by multivitamins (22.2%) D (18.1%). OTC paracetamol (26.3%) whereas, most prescription anxiolytics (4.8%), antibiotics (3.3%). relied on personal (77.18%) continued taking supplement less than month (56%). Moreover, 9.3% ( n = 25) tested positive self-medicated with: 44% 11), zinc 24% 6), aspirin 12% 3). Conclusion: Although pandemic; there minority did use such as anxiolytics, antidepressants which raise concerns over unattended mandate awareness risks associated with these medications.

The effect of ivermectin (IVM) in treating coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still controversial, yet the drug has been widely used world. aim this review was to systematically evaluate clinical outcomes IVM patients with COVID-19. From inception June 22, 2023, PubMed, EMBASE, Web Science (WOS), and scopus databases were searched for relevant observational studies on risk RA migraineurs. We PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Library, Science, medRxiv, bioRxiv collect all publications from 2023. Primary all-cause mortality rate, mechanical ventilation (MV) requirement, PCR negative conversion, adverse events (AEs). Revman 5.4 assess bias (RoB) quality evidence. Thirty-three RCTs (n = 10,489) included. No significant difference rates or conversion between controls. There differences MV requirement (RR 0.67, 95% CI 0.47-0.96) AEs 0.87, 0.80-0.95) two groups. Ivermectin could reduce COVID-19, without increasing other risks. In absence a better alternative, clinicians use it caution.

Introduction: The first COVID-19 wave in Ecuador started March 2020 and extended until November. Several types of drugs have been proposed as a potential treatment during this period, some affected people self-medicated. Method: A retrospective study was conducted with 10,175 individuals who underwent RT-PCR tests for SARS-CoV-2 from July to November 2020. We compared the number positive negative cases symptoms drug consumption. Chi-square test independence clinical demographic data PCR results. Odds ratios analyzed consumption dynamics. Results: Of cases, 570 were COVID-19, while 9,605 negative. In there no association between result sex, age, or comorbidities. When considering data, Cotopaxi Napo had highest rates (25.7% 18.8%, respectively). Manabí, Santa Elena, Guayas regions fewer than 10% cases. Drug dynamic analysis showed that presented higher both groups, most consumed medication acetaminophen. Covid-19 and post-Covid-19 complications induce noteworthy mortality. Potential chemical hits leads against for combating are urgently required. In present study, a virtual-screening protocol was executed on potential Amaryllidaceae alkaloids from pool natural compound library main protease (Mpro) transmembrane serine (TMPRSS2). For collected 1016 curated library, initially, molecular docking using AutoDock Vina (ADV), thereafter 100 ns molecular-dynamic (MD) simulation has been best top-ranked binding affinity compounds both host proteins. Comprehensive intermolecular-binding interactions profile suggested that phyto-compounds Galantamine, Lycorenine, Neronine as potent modulators Mpro TMPRSS2 protein. All atomistic long range MD studies each top ranked complex in triplicates also illustrated strong three towards TMPRSS2.
