Urban green space systems (UGSS) play a crucial role in enhancing citizens’ well-being and promoting sustainable urban development through their ecosystem service values (ESV). However, understanding the spatiotemporal changes, driving factors, influencing mechanisms of ESV remains critical challenge for advancing theories formulating effective policies. This study focuses on Suzhou, China’s third-largest prefecture-level city by economic volume ecological core Taihu watershed, to evaluate its UGSS from 2010 2020, identify key analyze mechanisms. Using InVEST model combined with entropy weight method (EWM), we assessed changes over period. To examine mechanisms, employed an innovative XGBoost-GWR approach, where XGBoost was used screen globally significant factors 37 potential drivers, geographically weighted regression (GWR) applied local spatial heterogeneity, providing research perspective that balances global nonlinear relationships heterogeneity. The results revealed three findings: First, while Suzhou’s increased 9.92% Global Moran’s I index rose 0.325 0.489, indicating distribution became more uneven, highlighting risks. Second, climate, topography, landscape pattern, vegetation emerged as most topographic showing greatest variation (the negatively impacted area 455.60 km2) climate having largest overall impact but least variation. Integrating AI machine learning benefits disaster response, while eco-tourism aids maintenance cultural awareness. Discussion underscores need reforms institutional arrangements. It calls increased beneficiary participation constitutional recognition practices. Strategic, national-scale assessments targets recommended improve effectiveness mitigating natural hazards enhancing services.

Taiwan The spring drought in not only impacts local socio-economic conditions but also has global implications due to the region's critical role semiconductor manufacturing. Despite extensive research, studies have yet fully integrated multiple indices for comprehensive assessment of meteorological, hydrological, and agricultural droughts. This study addresses gap by utilizing Standardized Drought Indices (SDI), Temperature Index (STI), Normalized Difference Water (NDWI) explore characteristics potential climate change links droughts from 1982 2021 Taiwan. It employed methodologies including remote sensing, statistical analysis, machine learning, complemented ground-validated sensing data assimilation. reveals that presents a unique case dynamics, deviating typical patterns. In Taiwan, hydrological respond more quickly rainfall deficits than droughts, showing strong correlations (r > 0.8) moderate (0.4 < r 0.6) Furthermore, although decreased, hydrometeorological shown an increase since early 2000s, marked abrupt point. Notably, central southern regions are hotspots with significant temperature-drought coherence occurring 4–6-year resonant cycles. This research aimed to assess the observed land use and cover (LULC) changes of Bale Mountains National Park (BMNP) from 1993 2023 its future projections for years (2033 2053). The study utilized multi-date Landsat imagery 1993, 2003, 2013, 2023, leveraging 5 TM, 7 ETM+, 8 OLI-TIRS sensors LULC classification. Standard image pre-processing techniques were applied, composite images created using yearly median values in Google Earth Engine (GEE). In addition satellite data, both physical socioeconomic variables used as input modeling. Random Forest (RF) classification algorithm was classification, while Cellular Automata Artificial Neural Networks (CA-ANN) model within Modules Land Use Change Simulations (MOLUSCE) plugin QGIS employed projection. analysis revealed significant BMNP, primarily due anthropogenic activities, with further anticipated between 2053.The results showed a notable increase woodland shrubs at expense grassland Erica forest. While increased by 87.18% 36.7%, areas forest lost about 25% 22% their area, respectively, during this period. also indicated that covered are expected 15.97% 15.57%, 2053. Conversely, occupied cultivated land, forest, grassland, herbaceous plants projected decrease 28.52%, 3.28%, 19.03%, 6.55%, respectively. Proximity roads urban combined rising temperatures altered precipitation patterns emerged critical factors influencing conversion BMNP. These findings underscore complex interplay environmental human activities shaping dynamics. Hence, promoting sustainable management practices among park administration local community well enhancing habitat protection efforts recommended.
