Pine wood nematodes (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, PWNs) are a major threat to Pinus koraiensis in northeast China, and emamectin benzoate (EB) is commonly used for their control. Although high doses of EB can alleviate symptoms pine wilt disease (PWD), they do not fully eradicate PWNs due detoxification mechanisms. This study investigates the content P. its efficacy controlling after exogenous application EB. We found that while significantly reduced PWN populations, it did eliminate them. Transcriptomic analysis treated with concentration at 20% (LC20) revealed exhibit responses low concentrations (LC20), driven by Bx-SDR3 gene. RNA interference (RNAi)-mediated silencing this gene decreased ability enhanced toxic effects LC20 20.9%. These results highlight key role suggest targeting could improve effectiveness EB, offering promising strategy more efficient eco-friendly pest management.
