Abstract Background Roots are the initial organs to perceive and adaptively adjust when confronted with salt stress. However, mechanisms underlying stress tolerance in roots of eggplant remained elusive. We performed transcriptome sequencing on under 150 mM NaCl treatment. Results The results indicated that a total 3491 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified. Gene Ontology analysis revealed oxidoreductase activity, catalytic microtubule-based process most enriched terms among DEGs. Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes Pentose glucuronate interconversions Phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways A pectinesterase (PME)-associated PMEs/PMEIs module may positively participate tolerance. Conclusions Taken together, this study provided candidate linked roots, offering foundation for further in-depth resistance supporting development novel salt-tolerant varieties genetic resources technologies.

This study investigates the effects of compost and vermicompost derived from sewage sludge moulded pulp on wheat yield, nutrient uptake, photosynthetic activity, drought resistance. Optimal weather conditions in March facilitated timely sowing, contributing to ideal yields, while subsequent higher temperatures rainfall influenced grain formation weight. The experiment demonstrated that significantly enhances plant physiological yield parameters, including chlorophyll content, water use efficiency. Fertilized variants exhibited improved soil properties, leading straw yields compared control. Macronutrient uptake was notably vermicompost-treated variants, with variant VI showing highest values. Enhanced activity resistance were observed fertilized attributed better stomatal regulation osmotic adjustment under stress conditions. underscores role promoting sustainable agriculture by improving availability, structure, resilience. These findings suggest especially applications can effectively enhance productivity resilience, offering a approach crop performance varying environmental
