Abstract Guava is a tropical fruit that can be consumed unpeeled. However, it prone to physical and biological deterioration during distribution storage. The aim of this study applies an edible coating method minimize quality loss, postharvest spoilage, extend shelf-life in cultivar " Etmany" guava. was coated by chitosan oil such as Moringa oil, lemon grass Marjoram Rosemary oil. Chitosan at 2% moringa 1% extended the cold storage fruits up 24 days. treatment resulted less weight loss than on day storage, with exhibiting superior characteristics (total soluble solids, L-Ascorbic Acid, total sugars, reduced non-reduced sugars). results indicated H2O2 levels treated or were lower other treatments, attributed enhanced peroxidase (POD) enzyme activity. Moreover, oils substantially decreased bacteria yeasts/molds fruit. Generally, best increased physiological chemical addition post-harvest disease soilage.

Loquat leaf extract (LLE) was added to guar gum and pullulan as an environmentally friendly packaging film (GPE) preserve Chinese water chestnuts (CWCs). The effect of the amount LLE on gum/pullulan composite investigated. optimal 4% (GPE4), with lower vapor permeability (WVP) greater mechanical strength, antioxidant, comparable antibacterial performance than many pullulan-based films. Upon packing CWCs for 4 days, weight loss rate GPE4 only 1.80 ± 0.05%. For GPE4, POD activity, soluble solid content, vitamin C (Vc) content were 21.61%, 36.16%, 26.22% higher those control sample, respectively. More importantly, effective in preserving quality after days storage, better or at least non-biodegradable plastic wrapping (PE). Therefore, it can be concluded that GPE films hold significant promise a sustainable alternative material fruit-based foods like CWCs, potentially replacing PE future.
