Abstract
This
study
investigated
the
antibacterial
activity
of
a
novel
compound,
Hydrolyzed
Palm
Kernel
Oil
and
Red
Super
Olein
Blend
(HPRB),
against
Gram-negative
(
Escherichia
coli,
Salmonella
typhi)
Gram-positive
(
Staphylococcus
aureus)
bacteria.
HPRB
was
synthesized
through
enzymatic
hydrolysis
with
four
different
ratios
palm
kernel
oil
(PKO)
red
super
olein
(RPSO).
The
evaluated
using
disc
diffusion
microdilution
methods.
results
showed
that
HPRB-C
(60%
PKO,
40%
RPSO)
HPRB-D
(80%
20%
exhibited
highest
all
bacteria
tested,
attributed
to
high
concentration
1-monolaurin
(17.54%
24.99%,
respectively).
phytonutrient
content
also
contributed
HPRB.
