Abstract For parents, the perinatal period is a challenging time of growth, so when crisis occurs and parents perceive threat to their infant’s well-being, they are vulnerable trauma, pathogenic memories, ensuing disruption parental development. Whether infant lives or dies, can experience multiple losses intertwining bereavement traumatic stress. Practitioners soften trauma’s impact by providing trauma-informed care, particularly in form developmentally supportive care that fosters parent–infant relationship, emotional regulation, relationships. Another key element refer specialists who trained provide neurologically based trauma-focused treatment. Many require this extra intervention make adjustment easier healing more complete, especially if have been repeatedly significantly traumatized.

Background: Variability in developmental care implementation the neonatal intensive unit (NICU) highlights need to explore barriers delivery, yet few studies addressed these challenges. Purpose: Drawing from NICU literature, this integrative review identifies implementing with premature infants. Methods: A systematic search of CINAHL and PubMed (2014-2024) was conducted, yielding 2 qualitative 5 quantitative studies. Results: Thematic analysis revealed 3 key based on theory planned behavior: attitude, subjective norm, perceived control. Conclusions: To improve care, a multi-pronged approach engaging stakeholders is recommended. Future research should apply rigorous science methods overcome barriers.

Kangaroo care (KC) is essential for both the infant's health and mother's well-being. The purpose of this quality improvement (QI) project to implement a practice change that aligns neonatal intensive unit's (NICU) KC policy with most recent World Health Organization guidelines, potentially improving outcomes preterm very low birth-weight infants. aims were revise current policy, create pamphlet parent distribution regarding awareness, increase number sessions by 20% duration in minutes 50% eligible infant-mother dyads following implementation updated policy. A framework developed published Guenther et al guided intervention readiness delivery action sequence project. assessment was made through successful workgroup participation consisting 5 direct registered nurses leader. Pre-/post-practice interventions assessed comparing KC-eligible daily census, if performed, average individual minutes. After an newly created pamphlet, there 58.1% offered 140% duration. Expanding role NICU may decrease NICU-associated morbidities, thereby decreasing healthcare costs. This project's findings serve as model other units expand their practices.

Kangaroo mother care (KMC) is recommended as a beneficial intervention to promote the wellbeing of preterm infants. This study evaluated effect KMC on anthropometric indexes in newborns, with and without telephone advice (TA). At tertiary center, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial (RCT), one hundred five discharged infants from neonatal intensive unit (NICU) were randomly allocated into two experimental groups: KMC, (KMC-TA), conventional (CC) (35 birthing parent-infant pairs each group). In groups, research assistant trained participants how do at home for maximum three times, least 3–4 h daily, during one-month period. KMC-TA group, counseled by phone, twice week. CC routine was provided. Prior to, end intervention, including weight, height, head chest circumferences neonates measured groups. The ANOVA, Kruskal–Wallis, Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, Bonferroni used analyse data. After month, mean weight significantly greater groups when compared those group (p = 0.006). No significant differences observed other indexes. Short–term implementation has positive infant gain. Optimal strategies are required, future may usefully inform these. registered Iranian Registry Clinical Trials code IRCT201306082324N11 28/4/2014. OBJECTIVE: Iatrogenic blood losses from repetitive laboratory testing are a leading cause of anemia prematurity and transfusions. We used an implementation science approach to decrease iatrogenic during the first 3 postnatal weeks among very low birth weight infants. METHODS: performed qualitative interviews key stakeholders assess determinants (ie, barriers facilitators reducing losses), guided by Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research. Next, we selected strategies matched these de-implement excess tests. The number tests, amount taken (ml/kg), charges were compared before after using quasi-Poisson multi-variable regression models. RESULTS: Qualitative with 14 clinicians revealed implementation-related themes, including provider-specific factors, recurring orders, awareness loss cost, balance between over- under-testing. deployed included resident education, revised order sets, cost awareness, audit feedback, documentation out.
