The oral cavity and gut are the two largest microbial habitats in human body, playing a significant role microbiome‐associated diseases. Even though continuous regions connected through gastrointestinal tract, their microbiome profiles distinct due to oral–gut barrier. However, there instances where microbiota can translocate intestinal mucosa, especially conditions of barrier dysfunction. On other hand, transmission from occurs both interpersonal intrapersonal ways. These transmissions influence ecosystems habitats, further affecting pathogenesis Oral‐to‐gut gut‐to‐oral potentially alter environments, ultimately disease pathogenesis. Despite its significance, interaction has been underappreciated date. present review will highlight crosstalk between microbiomes implications diseases periodontitis. A deeper understanding axis’s development pave way for more precise diagnostic therapeutic approaches.
