The impact of neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) on the outcome acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is scant. A retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients with ACLF treated artificial support system (ALSS). diagnosed according to Chinese Group Study Severe Hepatitis B-ACLF (COSSH ACLF) criteria. Disease severity rated COSSH score. Restricted cubic splines, linear or Cox regression models were used investigate relationships baseline NPAR disease and 90-day prognosis. transplant-free overall survival rates 258 eligible 58.5% 66.3%, respectively. survivors lower than that transplant death (22.8 ± 4.4 vs. 25.3 3.7, P < 0.001). positively associated score (adjusted β (95% CI) > 0, 0.001), HR for death: 1.07 (1.02–1.13), = 0.007), 1.09 (1.03–1.15), 0.003). Patients ≥ 22.4 had poor prognosis compared rest (all adjusted 1, 0.05). short-term who underwent ALSS treatment. Thus, it could be as a prognostic biomarker ACLF.

To assess the predicting value of neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) and modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS) for Stroke-Associated Pneumonia (SAP) occurrence among stroke patients. We recruited patients (aged 18 years) hospitalized at Tianjin First Central Hospital from January 2022 to February 2023 this retrospective cohort study. NPAR was categorized into four groups by considering quartiles: Q1 (<1.38), Q2 (≥1.38 <1.62), Q3 (≥1.62 <1.87), Q4 (≥1.87). SAP incident primary outcome in Univariate multivariate logistic regression models were employed explore association between NPAR, mGPS individuals with stroke. Besides, we compared receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Our study encompassed 851 One hundred forty-seven (17.27%) developed SAP. After accounting confounding factors, observed significant positive high [(for third quartile: odds (OR)=2.35, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.01-5.47; fourth OR=3.35, CI: 1.44-7.77)]. Additionally, results also indicated that 1 (OR=2.26, 1.25-4.08) 2 (OR=7.37, 2.63-20.70) related increased probability SAP, respectively. ROC analysis demonstrated both [area under curve (AUC)=0.729, 0.687-0.771] (AUC=0.671, 0.627-0.716) exhibited good predictive power occurrence. Based on DeLong test, may be significantly superior (P<0.05). findings suggest serve as reliable biomarker assessing risk patients, demonstrating mGPS.

Previous studies have proved that depression is an independent risk factor of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the general population. We conducted this analysis to explore whether symptoms are associated with increased developing CVD among cancer patients United States. The data for study were obtained from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2005 2018, a total 1890 included analysis. A stratified multistage probability sampling design was used select nationally representative sample, ensuring demographic groups proportionally represented. Depressive assessed using Patient Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), determined based on clinical self-reported data. weighted multivariate logistic regression assess relationship risk, adjusting confounding factors. Subgroup analyses performed associations across subgroups. After all covariates fully adjusted model (Model 3), showed significant association severity. For each unit increase PHQ-9 score, odds ratio (AOR) 1.09 (95% CI: 1.05–1.14, P < 0.001). Participants severe exhibited markedly higher compared those without (AOR=6.82,95%CI: 2.39–19.50, Trend revealed graded relationship, increasing progressively severity categories (P trend Restricted cubic spline confirmed linear dose–response nonlinearity = 0.424), indicating escalates continuously worsening Our findings suggest more incidence populations. These observations highlight need consider depressive symptom monitoring as part comprehensive care approaches may help address risks vulnerable group.

An increasing number of studies suggests an association between systemic inflammation, nutritional status, and cancer. However, the relationship prevalence breast cancer (BC) neutrophil-percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR), a recently identified biomarker is not well established. Therefore, this study aims to investigate BC risk NPAR. This included 18,726 participants from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted 2001 2018. The NPAR was used assess inflammation status. Statistical methods such as multivariate logistic regression, subgroup analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis were influence on BC. In addition, propensity score matching employed further validate findings. regression results showed that significantly associated with (OR = 1.05; 95% CI 1.02-1.09, p 0.003). comparison in lowest quartile, Q1, increased by 5% for those Q2 (p 0.745), 3% Q3 0.032), 38% Q4 0.018) higher RCS analyses positively correlated. Furthermore, significant observed marital significance traits assessed using mean decrease accuracy (MDA) impurity (MDI). These measures random forest modeling one major factors affecting linear demonstrated correlation high total testosterone sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) levels.
