Abstract COVID-19 testing is an important risk mitigation strategy for prevention in school settings, where the virus continues to pose a public health challenge in-person learning. Socially vulnerable communities with highest proportion of low-income, minority, and non-English speaking families have least access despite shouldering disproportionate burden morbidity mortality. Through Safer at School Early Alert (SASEA) program, we investigated community perceptions San Diego County schools, focus on barriers facilitators from perspective socially parents staff. Using mixed-methods approach, administered survey conducted group discussions (FGDs) staff SASEA-affiliated schools childcares. We recruited 299 respondents 42 FGD participants. Participants expressed COVID-19-related stigma, loss income result isolation/quarantine requirements, lack multilingual materials most significant testing. Our findings suggest faced by members are predominantly structural.
