Childhood obesity is inversely associated with household socioeconomic status in high-income countries. Our aim was to explore the association between childhood weight and Spain relation family characteristics, perceptions lifestyle habits school environment.We performed a descriptive analysis of child according factors mediating variables based on data from ALADINO 2019 study sample 16,665 schoolchildren representative population aged 6-9 years Spain.The prevalence households low (26.8% boys; 20.4% girls) was, both sexes, twice as high those higher (12.1% 8.7% girls). Unhealthy eating habits, sedentary lifestyles (mainly presence screens bedroom (more prevalent boys) were more frequent school-aged children low-income households. On other hand, most disadvantaged households, history breastfeeding physical activity (especially less frequent. Similarly, schools attended by likely have their own kitchens indoor gymnasiums or offer sports activities.A lower poorer dietary certain characteristics environments that mediate inverse obesity. Pediatric obesity is a major public health problem, affecting nearly 20% of children and adolescents living in the United States. In 2023, American Academy Pediatrics released its first clinical practice guideline for evaluation management child adolescent recommended integrating behavior lifestyle interventions with pharmacological treatment when medically indicated. However, there limited evidence base to guide antiobesity medication decisions data on long-term safety during this critical period growth development youth. Thus, November National Institute Diabetes Digestive Kidney Diseases sponsored workshop identify knowledge gaps opportunities research use pharmacotherapy adolescents.
