In May 2022, when the COVID-19 pandemic began to recede from public view, another infectious disease surprised world—mpox (formerly monkeypox). It appeared disproportionately affect gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with (GBMSM). Using qualitative thematic analysis social representations theory, we analysed a corpus of 91 items variety news outlets that included GBMSM community members’ personal accounts living through an mpox outbreak. To effectively address crisis emergence of new virus such as monkeypox, a collective and collaborative effort between scientists, engineers, innovators, artists from all ages, regions, diverse fields is required. This review explores holistic approach to addressing the monkeypox by integrating nanobiosensors, artificial intelligence, visual arts, humanities, social sciences. Traditional diagnostic methods are often limited time, accessibility, accuracy, but advancement point‐of‐care smart nanobiosensors offers promising shift toward rapid, precise, accessible diagnostics. Beyond technological innovation, essential role sciences in fostering public engagement, understanding, acceptance tools emphasized. Visual arts can illustrate scientific concepts, making them more relatable, while storytelling through various media reduce stigma promote preventive measures. Social provide insights into cultural attitudes, behaviors, health challenges, ensuring that solutions integrated communities. The current mpox outbreak has challenged previous understanding of the disease, with human-to-human transmission being a significant mode transmission, particularly among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex (GBMSM). A knowledge gap exists on MSM's experiences in Nigeria's restrictive sociolegal context. This study explored awareness, knowledge, MSM Lagos, Nigeria, through 28 in-depth interviews. We analysed interview transcripts thematically. Findings showed low awareness MSM, prefer seeking healthcare outside public health facilities due to stigma. Intimate contact during sexual intercourse is likely source infection MSM. Abstract The 2022 global mpox outbreak highlighted significant public health challenges, with men who have sex (MSM) accounting for 86.7% of confirmed cases. As a high-risk group, MSM faced not only the direct impacts but also an additional burden stigma and discrimination, which severely hindered their willingness to seek care access timely medical services. This article explores mpox-related discrimination profound impact on healthcare-seeking behaviors among MSM, drawing evidence from studies. We examine how affects individual decision-making has broader implications by exacerbating healthcare delays during outbreak. In response, we propose actionable strategies mitigate stigma, including providing accurate responsible communication, strengthening community social support network, building capacity frontline workers, engaging affected individuals effective intervention. By integrating stigma-reduction measures into pandemic preparedness systems can better vulnerable populations, improve access, ensure more response future outbreaks.

Objectives This study investigated the acceptability by gay men, bisexual men and other who have sex with (GBMSM) of French public health information prevention measures implemented during 2022 Mpox outbreak. Methods ANRS-MPX-SHS "Mpox: perception risks, vaccination" is a cross-sectional survey conducted in GBMSM between July September 2022. Online questionnaires collected about Mpox-related awareness, perceptions behaviours. Multiple correspondence analysis identified participant profiles according to their level The outcome was variable grouping participants into three profiles: ‘strong endorsers’, ‘uninformed hesitant endorsers’ ‘indifferent objectors’. Multinomial logistic regression used estimate factors associated each profile. Results Of 5688 participants, 5320 (93.5%) had available data for outcome. latter were mostly cisgender (98%), aged 35 54 years (54.5%), tertiary education (82%); 44% living Greater Paris region. Strong endorsers, uninformed endorsers indifferent objectors accounted 77.8%, 14.4% 7.8% sample, respectively. Participants education, those exclusively taking pre-exposure prophylaxis (ie, HIV-negative participants), HIV-positive individuals region, all less likely be or objectors. no lifetime HIV/sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening infrequent were, respectively, more belong these two profiles.
