This study investigates the correlation between weight-adjusted waist index (WWI) and cognitive performance in senior American population, focusing on those without diabetes from 2011 to 2014. We analyzed data 2011-2012 2013-2014 National Health Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES), non-diabetic participants aged 60 older who completed tests: Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's disease (CERAD), Animal Fluency test (AFT), Digit Symbol Substitution (DSST). WWI was calculated using circumference divided by square root of body weight. employed linear univariate multivariate analyses, along with curve fitting, we conducted subgroup interaction analyses elucidate relationships under investigation. The incorporated cohort 1649 years older, each complete set data, enabling thorough analysis. After adjusting confounding factors, significant negative correlations were found both CERAD (β: -0.48; 95% CI: -0.92 -0.05; P=0.03) DSST -1.15; -2.09 -0.21; P=0.017) scores, suggesting link decline. No association AFT scores. relationship be nonlinear (P non-linearity=0.022). Additionally, also observed non-linearity=0.042). However, non-linearity=0.418). analysis overall stable. Our cross-sectional indicates strong high reduced function Americans, as shown Attaining an optimal may vital decline, highlighting its role potential preventative approach. design are publicly accessible at www.cdc.gov/nchs/nhanes/.

To explore the associations of central obesity indicators including waist circumference (WC), waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), and weight-adjusted index (WWI) with impairment basic activities daily living (BADL) instrumental (IADL) among middle-aged elderly population in China. This prospective study used baseline data from 2011 follow-up data, involving 6440 9646 participants, respectively. Binary logistic regression analysis was to assess relationships. Restricted cubic spline (RCS) curve also analyze correlation trends. Stratified analyses were performed identify potential differences. Receiver operating characteristic curves plotted evaluate predictive value each indicator. WC (OR = 1.01, 95% CI:1.01-1.02), WHtR 1.21, CI 1.09-1.33), WWI 1.10, CI:1.02-1.19) significantly associated BADL impairment. Only 1.16, 95%CI:1.09-1.23) IADL WC, linearly while The risk association between stronger drinking individuals males. In participants a BMI less than 24 kg/m² who had received high school education or above, increase accompanied by more significant ability is higher that WHtR, AUC values 0.597 0.615. WWI, as comprehensive indicator obesity, may be useful comprehensively identifying early activity population.

Abstract Objective To investigate the relationship between obesity and cognitive impairment among older adults using body mass index (BMI) weight-adjusted waist circumference (WWI). Methods Drawing on data from Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey database spanning 2011 to 2018, study employed Cox regression analysis restricted cubic spline method examine BMI, WWI, impairment. Results A total of 2546 subjects were included in this study. According lean was a risk factor for (HR = 1.347, 95%CI:1.011 ~ 1.795), overweight 0.446, 95%CI:0.35 0.568) 0.225, 95%CI:0.161 0.314) protective adults. classification high WWI 2.064, 95%CI:1.731 2.461). The showed that when > 11cm/, increased with increase WWI. comprehensive weight phenotype constructed by BMI combined found have highest 1.542, 95%CI:1.087–2.187), low had largest effect function by(HR 0.108, 95%CI: 0.062 0.186). Conclusion Maintaining an appropriate level or even state can contribute preservation health This holds significant importance as it is preventive measure against onset

Cognitive function is a fundamental capacity essential for maintaining independence and performing complex tasks in daily life. abilities gradually decline with age, potentially leading to dementia. Evidence suggests that female reproductive factors may influence cognitive later life through various mechanisms. However, the relationship between age at first birth (AFB) requires further investigation. This study utilizes data from 2011-2014 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), including 1,057 participants. AFB are obtained health questionnaire. assessed using CERAD Word Learning Test, Animal Fluency Digit Symbol Substitution Test. Multiple linear regression, smoothed curve fitting, threshold analyses, subgroup analyses conducted evaluate association function. significantly positively associated after adjusting covariates. Women ≥ 20 years exhibit 34% lower prevalence of impairment higher test scores compared those < years. A nonlinear observed, positive effect increasing on being more pronounced before 21. The stronger among individuals without history stroke moderate high levels waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) weight-adjusted waist index (WWI). Later reduced improved outcomes, particularly when occurs Considering WHtR WWI optimize protective effects health. These findings underscore importance timing long-term
