The findings of the 2021 Global Burden Disease (GBD) study can offer valuable insights for development screening and prevention strategies targeting ischemic heart disease (IHD). We aim to investigate trends in IHD incidence, mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), while exploring associated risk factors IHD-associated death from 1990 2021. cross-sectional utilized data GBD 2021, covering 204 countries regions. analysis included individuals aged 55 above. analyzed all cause cause-specific deaths, DALYs, corresponding estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs) These indicators were further stratified by geographical region, country, age group, gender, sociodemographic index (SDI). global incidence rate, mortality DALYs rate above with have shown a decreasing trend. However, number incident cases, has been increasing Both high-middle high SDI regions exhibit significant decline these rates low SDI, low-middle middle show less noticeable changes. region experiences largest increase (EAPC: 0.38; 95%CI, 0.33–0.44) 0.17; 0.12–0.22). 0.37; 0.27–0.46). Regionally, East Asia exhibits greatest 0.94; 95% CI, 0.79–1.10), 1.68; 1.40–1.94), 0.69–1.20). Among 12 IHD, systolic blood pressure, dietary risks, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, air pollution are identified as primary contributors mortality. This reveals that regions, declining. Conversely, burden is increasing. It highlights inequality burden. Recommendations include early screening, management, strengthening care, especially Countries should also invest environmental governance control. Future research focus on evaluating effects health policies different countries, impact socio-economic cultural developing big data-based prediction models optimize resource allocation intervention strategies.

Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) poses a significant health burden in Europe, but comprehensive studies on this region are limited. Methods Using data from the Global Burden of Diseases (GBD), Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021, we analyzed regional distribution temporal trends CRC early-onset Europe 1990 to 2021. Decomposition analysis was applied quantify contributions population growth, aging, epidemiological changes. The research also evaluated major risk factors associated with CRC. Results found be higher than global average. While age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) increased, both mortality (ASMR) disability-adjusted life years (ASDR) decreased. Early-onset exhibits similar characteristics patterns change. Males had significantly females. Population aging primary driver increased Europe. factor revealed that low whole grain intake high red meat consumption were contributors elevated ASMR ASDR Additionally, BMI fasting plasma glucose showed an increasing trend. Conclusion overall remains level, ASIR decreasing ASDR. Targeted prevention control strategies should developed based for Older adults men prioritized interventions.

With nearly half of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients diagnosed at advanced stages where surgery alone is insufficient, chemotherapy remains a cornerstone for this treatment. To prevent infections and improve outcomes, antibiotics are often co-administered. However, chemotherapeutic interactions with the gut microbiota cause significant non-selective toxicity, affecting not only tumor normal epithelial cells but also microbiota. This toxicity triggers bacterial SOS response loss microbial diversity, leading to mutations dysbiosis. Consequently, pathogenic overgrowth systemic increase, necessitating broad-spectrum intervention. review underscores how prolonged antibiotic use during chemotherapy, combined chemotherapy-induced mutations, creates selective pressures that drive de novo antimicrobial resistance (AMR), allowing resistant bacteria dominate gut. compromises treatment efficacy elevates mortality risk. Restoring diversity may mitigate therapeutic emerging strategies, such as fecal transplantation (FMT), probiotics, prebiotics, show considerable promise. Given global threat posed by treatment, prioritizing stewardship essential optimizing preventing in CRC undergoing chemotherapy. Future research should aim minimize chemotherapy’s impact on develop targeted interventions restore affected
