Model spherical polystyrene particles are studied to understand the interactions of microplastics with organic pollutants. Analysis experimental results presented in literature is complicated since researchers use different types and concentrations particles, durations tests, etc. In addition, there little information on effect structure surface layer processes under study, question shape remains open. Here, we present first a model experiment study microspheres non-spherical 2 5 μm size sorption properties relation molecules rhodamine B as pollutant. The both initial modified ones were by optical, transmission electron, atomic force microscopy, well using Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method (BET). process was spectrophotometry, analysis curves carried out Langmuir model. It shown that does not have significant capacity. At same time, determined layer, which can be changed, for example, exposing N,N′-dimethylformamide.

Abstract Recent analytical advancements have uncovered increasing micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) in environmental, dietary, biological domains, raising concerns about their health impacts. Preterm birth (PTB), a leading cause of maternal neonatal morbidity mortality, may be influenced by MNP exposure, yet this relationship remains unexplored. This study quantified 12 polymers placentae from term (n=87) preterm (n=71) deliveries using pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). Cumulative concentrations were 28% higher PTB (mean ±SD: 224.7 ± 180.7 µg/g vs. 175.5 137.9 µg/g; p=0.038). Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyurethane (PU), polycarbonate (PC) significantly elevated PTB, PET, PU, PC inversely correlated with gestational age weight. Logistic regression identified PVC as independent predictors PTB. These findings suggest total specific MNPs are associated providing actionable insights emphasizing the importance minimizing exposure during pregnancy.

The escalation of plastic pollution represents a global environmental and health problem. Important toxic effects have been attributed to the increasing diffusion microplastics (MPs) nanoplastics (NPs) derived from degradation plastics. These particles ubiquitously observed in environment, with humans being continuously exposed via ingestion, inhalation skin contact. Nonetheless, cellular homeostasis imbalance induced by micro- nano- plastics (MNPs) human has only recently shown, while most evidence molecular mechanisms studies
