BACKGROUND The current Information and Communication Technologies, digital literacy, ease of access to communication information devices by nurses provide them with new ways intention for technical-scientific updating, ensuring the quality safety health care. M-learning offers a flexible accessible alternative continuing professional education, overcoming barriers such as time constraints financial burden. OBJECTIVE To evaluate effectiveness m-learning in nurses’ knowledge retention Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease self-management, using Massive Open Online Course integrated virtual clinical simulation. METHODS A quasi-experimental pre- post-test study was conducted, no control group, 168 from Portuguese hospital. intervention included an asynchronous online course 13 modules. Knowledge assessed comparing mean scores before after course. RESULTS results indicated significant increase retention. participants' average score increased 59.97% initial assessment 84.05% final (p<.001). Nurses master's degree exhibited higher level basic than those bachelor's degree. completion rate 93.45%, reflecting engagement facilitated gamification elements content’s relevance. CONCLUSIONS is useful nurses' lifelong learning, offering flexibility more effective support practice. Integrating simulation boosted motivation reduced drop-out rates, highlighting potential learning healthcare. This confirms improving nursing. strategy valuable approach promoting delivering

Introdução: A evolução científica e tecnológica exige dos enfermeiros uma atualização permanente. Esta concretiza-se através da formação contínua aprendizagem ao longo vida, as quais enfrentam alguns obstáculos como a necessidade de conciliação com vida pessoal familiar. O recurso cursos massivos, online assíncronos possibilita aos o acesso conteúdos atuais direcionados às suas necessidades, potenciando autonomia gestão aprendizagem. Com este estudo pretendíamos avaliar facilidade utilização, utilidade percebida intenção para utilização um Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) na pelos Enfermeiros. Metodologia: Estudo observacional, exploratório descritivo técnica amostragem não probabilística conveniência. decorreu no Departamento Medicina Interna Hospital Central do Norte Portugal. Resultados: Neste participaram 141 enfermeiros. Os resultados revelaram elevada percebidas programa formativo, assim futura MOOC. Discussão: utilidade, percebidas, são suportadas pela qualidade nos conteúdos, adequação necessidades estratégias pedagógicas ativas integração simulação clínica virtual, acessibilidade formativos. Background The use of virtual patients in nursing education has emerged as a valuable tool for developing clinical decision-making skills. However, little is known about the outcomes incorporating into curricula. Nursing School Porto dedicated efforts to scenarios and integrating patient simulation its degree curriculum. This study aims evaluate curriculum, specifically focusing on physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, overall scores. Method An observational, retrospective, descriptive was conducted using non-probabilistic convenience sample 521 second-year students. results On average, students completed 31 training sessions. Students obtained an score 82.5% (SD=8.52) decision-making, examination 85.6%, diagnostic activity 72.1%, implemented treatment 82.8%. Positive relationships were observed between number scenarios, average evaluation score, final marks. Conclusion integration yielded positive impact education. further evidence necessary determine competencies
