The Experience of Spanish Prison Nurses with the HIV Pandemic

This
study
discusses
the
experiences
of
nurses
in
Spanish
prisons
during
HIV/AIDS
pandemic,
emphasizing
administrative
changes
and
adaptive
measures,
such
as
creation
Subdirectorate
General
Penitentiary
Health.
We
describe
penitentiary
centers
face
HIV/AIDS.
The
interpretative
phenomenological
approach
explored
between
1981
2023
through
focus
groups
convenience
sampling.
Participants
were
recruited

meetings
using

Four
key
themes
identified:
stigmatization
inmates,
nursing,
importance
training
resources,
equal
treatment
genders.
