Exploring the Impact of Workplace Satisfaction, Leadership, and Career Development on Employee Retention in Hospitals DOI Open Access

Background and objectives This study examines hospital employees' perceptions of workplace satisfaction, communication, professional development, providing insights into key factors affecting job retention, the overall work environment. Methods A longitudinal survey design was employed to assess development at Bihor County Emergency Clinical Hospital. Data were collected over a four-year period (2019-2022) capture evolving trends in employee attitudes experiences. The total sample size includes 3,732 participants, who asked complete questionnaire, with data stratified by year analyzed for statistical significance using p-values. Results results reveal strengths infection control awareness compliance, 95% employees understanding their responsibilities preventing healthcare-associated infections. Positive interpersonal communication collaboration also highlighted, 90.9% reporting good relationships colleagues. However, identified areas improvement, particularly career advancement opportunities, only 41.8% respondents believing had structured promotion policy. Conclusions These findings suggest that while excels certain aspects, addressing gaps resource management, leadership responsiveness, training opportunities is essential enhancing reducing turnover, improving patient care outcomes. Recommendations include establishing merit-based systems, infrastructure, expanding programs.
