ABSTRACT Aim To explore the experience of nursing staff who provide one‐to‐one observations for patients aged ≥ 18 years admitted to acute hospitals. Design Integrative review reported in accordance with method described by Wittemore and Knafl (2005) which focused on period 2000–2024. Method Papers were included if they novel studies, service or educational improvement interventions. All studies critically appraised quality; no study was excluded because methodological quality. Included data synthesised narratively. Data Sources Eight databases searched August 2024. Search terms related nurses' observations, restrictions placed language. Results Nine papers included. Nurses' delivering ranged from ‘frightening’ ‘satisfying’. Nursing more likely have a positive had access training felt themselves part cohesive team worked an organisation supportive culture.
