Neuregulin 4 (Nrg4) is a brown adipose tissue-derived adipokine that greatly affects systemic metabolism and improves metabolic derangements. Although abnormal circulating levels of Nrg4 are common in obesity, it remains elusive whether low or elevated this batokine associated with the onset diseases.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a multifaceted disorder with pandemic spread and remarkable burden of cardiovascular mortality morbidity. Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DBCM) has been increasingly recognized as the development cardiac dysfunction, which accompanied by heart failure (HF) symptoms in absence obvious reasons like ischemic disease, hypertension, or valvulopathies. Several pathophysiological mechanisms have proposed, including metabolic disorders (e.g., glycation products), oxidative stress, low-grade inflammation, mitochondrial etc., should guide new therapeutic strategies. Up to now, HF treatment not differed between patients without diabetes, limits expected benefits despite high risk former group. However, DBCM may require different management, prioritize anti-diabetic medications testing other novel therapies. This review aims appraise challenges prospectives individualized pharmaceutical therapy for DBCM.

In recent years, the investigation of autophagy mechanisms has gained prominence as a key focus for understanding pathogenesis and therapeutic potential diabetic cardiomyopathy. This study aims to present an overview current state, major research areas, emerging trends in related cardiomyopathy through bibliometric analysis, offering scientific foundation future research. The Web Science Core Collection served data source this study, from which full-text publications were extracted. Using CiteSpace 6.3.R1, VOSviewer v1.6.18, R-Bibliometrix, analysis evaluated output across dimensions such subjects, countries, institutions, journals, authors, co-cited references, generating comprehensive visual map. A total 367 met inclusion criteria. Between 2014 2024, volume articles demonstrated consistent upward trajectory. Research on predominantly spans disciplines biology medicine. China Fourth Military Medical University emerged leading contributors among 41 countries 505 institutions. Sun Dongdong was identified most prolific author, while Jia GH frequently cited. Key journals field include Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Basis Disease Frontiers Cardiovascular Medicine, Circulation recorded highest number co-citations. cited reference experimental by Xie ZL. Current focuses autophagy, cardiomyopathy, oxidative stress, their underlying mechanisms. role reached stable phase development. Future investigations should prioritize mechanistic studies emphasize clinical application novel pharmacological interventions, thereby advancing strategies contributing improved human health outcomes.
