ABSTRACT Objective : To explore the association of serum transactive response DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43) with 28-day poor neurologic outcome in patients return spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after cardiac arrest. Methods We performed a study between January and December 2023. Eligible ROSC following arrest were enrolled. Their baseline characteristics collected, levels TDP-43, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6 10, C-reactive protein, neuron-specific enolase (NSE) at 24 h measured. The function was assessed by cerebral performance category scores on day 28 ROSC. Results A total 92 included, 51 41 good groups, respectively. Serum TDP-43 significantly higher than group ( P < 0.05). Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that Witnessed CA, IL-6, NSE associated (all Restricted cubic spline analysis revealed level 11.64 pg/mL might be an ideal cutoff value for distinguishing outcomes. Area under curve (AUC = 0.78) close to 0.82). dynamic nomogram prediction model combined constructed validated. Conclusion Elevated could used together predict

Background: To further identify the association of triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index with risk mortality among critically ill patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU). Methods: The PubMed, Web Science, and EMBASE databases were searched for relevant studies up February 2, 2024. primary outcomes in-hospital ICU mortality. secondary 30-day mortality, 90-day 1-year hazard ratios (HRs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) combined evaluate associations between TyG above endpoints. All statistical analyses performed STATA 15.0 software. Results: Ten involving 22,694 included. pooled results demonstrated that an elevated indicated increased (HR = 1.76, CI: 1.41–2.18, P < .001), 1.52, 1.33–1.74, 1.50, 1.02–2.19, .037), 1.42, 1.01–2.00, .043), 1.19, 1.11–1.28, .001). The triglyceride–glucose (TyG) index, proven to be a crucial insulin resistance biomarker (better than the Homeostasis Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance), is simple and non-invasive. Recently, indisputable evidence has shown that TyG index strongly associated with cardiovascular disease [CVD, including atherosclerosis, heart failure (HF), hypertension] prognosis mortality. Nevertheless, value of in HF patients treated sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) not been systematically evaluated. Therefore, this review, we summarized its related parameters as markers CVD, especially HF. Furthermore, addressed use SGLT2is GLP-1 receptor antagonists patients. Finally, mechanism “obesity paradox.”

Abstract Background This study aimed to assess the role of triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index in predicting all-cause mortality critically ill patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
