Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection may affect serum hormones levels and male sexual function. This study aims to provide evidence for the causal relationship between COVID-19 infection, testosterone risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) using a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Summary-level data (199,569 samples 12,321,875 single nucleotide polymorphisms [SNPs]) were obtained from Rebecca's study, while ED (6,175 cases 217,630 controls) sourced Bovijn's study. Genetic variations linked used as instrumental variables (IVs) in meta-analyses genome-wide association studies (GWASs) involving 6,406 902,088 controls Host Genetics Initiative. The inverse-variance weighted (IVW) method was primarily employed evaluate potential associations levels, ED. mode, weighted-median simple-median sensitivity. Heterogeneity pleiotropic outlier assessed Cochran's Q test MR-Egger regression. MR analysis demonstrated that associated with reduced (odds ratio [OR] 0.966, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.938-0.993, p=0.016) an increased (OR 1.205, CI 1.063-1.367, p=0.004) when IVW methods. Sensitivity analyses utilizing various IV sets approach remained consistent. is decrease Male patients recovering need pay special attention their sex hormone health.

Objectives: To develop a risk prediction model for the identification of features involved in erectile dysfunction (ED) at 12 months following COVID-19 recovery. Methods: We performed an observational prospective multicentre study. Participants were classified according to their history COVID-19: (I) patients with past and (II) without previous microbiological diagnosis COVID-19. A total 361 (past COVID-19, n = 166; no 195) assessed from January 2022 March 2023. Patients The primary outcome measure was ED, through 5-item International Index Erectile Function (IIEF-5). Data concerning epidemiologic variables, comorbidities active treatment also collected. binary logistic regression predictive model. Among models developed, we selected one higher Area Under Curve (AUC). Results: median age 55 years both groups. ED prevalence 55.9% 44.1% those best developed comprised 40 variables had AUC 0.8. Conclusions: after application our tool community setting could eventually prevent adverse effects on cardiovascular health associated unfavourable economic impact.
