This article examines the nexus of emergence agri-tech ecosystem in Singapore and concerns over climate change. In anticipation supply chain issues due to unstable weather patterns, Singaporean government plans intensify its agriculture sector next decade. The Food Agency (SFA) has set a target – ‘30 by 30’ initiative create robust, innovative, sustainable industry that will produce 30% nation’s nutritional needs locally 2030. Over past few years, state not only shuttered local farms hew conventional farming methods but have also ploughed S$30 million into startups embraced soilless vertical farming. Investors, too, been lured promise modern cultivation purports grow food resilient way. Drawing on debates centred around ‘green’ capitalism, this finds often fail live up combat change insecurity. I suggest these failures are built solutionism sustainability discourse, as start-ups supported venture capital investment funds need demonstrate potentially succeed articulating aspirational narratives counter pitfalls agriculture. theorizing why there remains steady proliferation firms amidst failure, essay illuminates what is then being sustained form capitalism ultimately does politically disrupt existing systems environmental governance.

This chapter develops the environmental sustainability index (ESI) global food security (GFSI) across 34 countries in a time series of 2000 – 2021. GFSI is considered as combination its four components. It applied composite Z-score method to estimate stated indexes. provides cross comparison these (ES) and (GFS). Thereupon, causal association between ES GFS identified using regression equations. Background: Dietary habits are pivotal for population health and well-being, yet remain a pressing global issue, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), where economic instability institutional challenges exacerbate dietary problems. Despite extensive research, there is notable gap the literature regarding direct interactive effects of quality inflationary shocks on habits. Methods: This study delves into these complex interplays across 44 SSA nations from 2002 to 2022. Employing an innovative entropy method (EM) generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH) modeling, introduces inclusive index shock predictor as crucial determinants literature. Results: The results panel-corrected standard error (PCSE) feasible least squares (FGLS) model reveal that per capita GDP, school enrollment rate, government expenditures, globalization index, urbanization positively associated with habits, while shock, food insecurity, unemployment rate exert negative influences. Notably, acts catalyst, amplifying positive former group absorbing impacts latter Additionally, dynamic panel causality analysis confirms bidirectional nexus between all variables, except shocks, which demonstrate unidirectional link. Conclusions: These findings carry significant policy implications, underscoring dynamics quality, region. highlights need holistic interventions address economic, social, factors simultaneously. Moreover, suggests stabilizing inflation critical protecting provide insights policymakers design targeted aimed at improving nutrition, bolstering frameworks, ensuring public resilience face social shocks.
