Background: Delayed initiation of breastfeeding after birth can negatively impact maternal and newborn health, significantly increasing neonatal mortality. Due to the rising number cesarean deliveries, risk delayed is imminent. However, there limited evidence on among mothers who gave by section in Ethiopia. Thus, this study aims assess factors associated with public health facilities Gamo Gofa zones, south Methods: This multicenter, facility-based, cross-sectional was conducted across five hospitals zones that offer delivery services. A consecutive sampling technique, which involves selecting every eligible subject until desired sample size reached, employed include 416 underwent sections between March 20 May 21, 2023. Data collection performed through an interviewer-administered questionnaire chart reviews. The collected data were entered into Epi-Data Version 4.6 subsequently exported Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 26 analysis. To identify breastfeeding, a logistic regression model fitted, statistical significance determined at p value less than 0.05. Results: prevalence breast feeding 53.4% 95% CI: (48.5, 58.2).
