Interferons (IFNs) stimulate the expression of numerous IFN-stimulating genes via Janus kinase-signal transducers and activators transcription (JAK-STAT) signaling pathway, which plays an important role in host defense against viral infections. In mammals, including humans mice, a substantial number IFN-stimulated (ISGs) have been identified, their molecular mechanisms elucidated. It is to note that avian species are phylogenetically distant from resulting distinct IFN-induced ISGs may different functions. At present, only limited identified. this review, we summarized identified antiviral activities. As gene-editing technology widely used breeding, identification elucidation mechanism provide support for breeding avians disease resistance.
