Background and objectives: Thyroid disorders (TD) are common among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Information on types of functional structural TDs Bangladeshi T2DM is scarce in the literature. The present study aimed to determine magnitude characteristics different diabetic attending an urban healthcare center Dhaka. Material methods: included who attended Endocrinology Outpatient consultation Dhaka over a period two years. Diagnosis was based either previous medical records or investigational results thyroid functions/gland during first visit. Standard criteria were used diagnose TDs. Results: Total 1424 enrolled study. mean age population 48.8 ± 12.9 years 45.2% 54.8% male female respectively. Among participants 217 (15.2%) had and/or abnormalities gland. For those abnormal function (14.3%), most clinical hypothyroidism (10.5%), followed by subclinical (2.6%), thyrotoxicosis (1.3%). Except for one, all overt primary hypothyroidism. thyrotoxicosis, Graves’ disease entity (50%). Multinodular goiter frequent diagnosis (7 out 13). Female sex (OR: 3.0, 95%CI: 1.5, 6.1, p=0.003) obesity 2.3, 1.1, 5.0, p=0.039) higher odds having T2DM. Hypertension, dyslipidemia significantly (p < 0.05) Conclusion: especially Dyslipidemia more January 2025; Vol. 19(1):008. The approaches to correct thyroid deficiency include replacement therapy with hormones (THs), but such causes a number of side effects. A possible alternative is thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor activators, including allosteric agonists. aim this work was study the effect ethyl-2-(4-(4-(5-amino-6-(tert-butylcarbamoyl)-2-(methylthio)thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)phenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl) acetate (TPY3m), TSH agonist developed by us, on basal and thyroliberin (TRH)-stimulated TH levels hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis in male rats high-fat diet/low-dose streptozotocin-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Single three-day administration TPY3m (i.p., 20 mg/kg) studied, HPT compared that levothyroxine. increased when administered both healthy diabetic rats, normalizing thyroxine triiodothyronine T2DM and, unlike levothyroxine, without negatively affecting or expression hypothalamic pituitary genes responsible for production. pretreatment preserved stimulatory effects TRH gene expression. This indicates absence competition between endogenous activation supported our vitro results TPY3m- TSH-stimulated adenylate cyclase activity rat membranes. Morphological analysis glands after shows an increase its functional destructive changes. To summarize, TPY3m, partial receptor, created as prototype drugs insufficiency T2DM.

Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a widespread metabolic disorder that contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality due its associated complications. Among these, thyroid dysfunction one of the most common may play role in progression diabetic This study explores relationship between both microvascular macrovascular complications individuals with T2DM. Methods cross-sectional observational was conducted among 200 patients T2DM, aged 30-70 years, at Department General Medicine, Gujarat Medical Education Research Society (GMERS) College Hospital, Valsad, India. Participants were screened for complications, including retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Blood tests performed measure hormone levels (thyroid-stimulating hormone, free triiodothyronine, thyroxine) diabetes-related parameters such as glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Data analyzed using chi-square multivariate regression analysis evaluate correlation development Results The prevalence population 26.5%, hypothyroidism being more (84.9%) than hyperthyroidism (15.1%). Diabetic prevalent compared those normal function. Hypothyroidism independently increased odds retinopathy (OR = 7.72), nephropathy 4.87), neuropathy 3.10), PAD 8.12). In contrast, showed no significant association Conclusions T2DM higher risk These findings highlight importance incorporating function assessment into routine care, optimizing help mitigate these

Background: Approximately, 200 million people suffer from thyroid disorders worldwide. Thyromegaly is a disorder in which the gland becomes abnormally enlarged. High-resolution ultrasound of useful diagnostic method for assessing disorders, including thyromegaly. To investigate thyromegaly, lobe dimensions are measured separately using an device and, volume estimated formula time-consuming process. Besides, depends on variety factors such as age, sex, anthropometric parameters, and genetic factors. Objectives: The aim present study to find most important parameters increase rate thyromegaly detection also relationship between some characteristics population. Methods: A total 131 were referred Ultrasound Department Imam Reza Hospital Kermanshah, Iran during July 2017 2019, after recording characteristics, was taken. Thyroid longitudinal (L) anterior-posterior or depth (AP), width (W) diameter lobes isthmus calculated ellipsoid formula. According opinion fellow radiologist considering cut-off point (11.1 women 11.6 men), individuals divided into two groups: Case (n = 69) control normal group 62), statistical analysis then carried out. Results: Statistical showed that mean weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), dimensions, significantly higher case than (P < 0.05). Diabetes mellitus and thyroid dysfunction are prevalent endocrine disorders that impose enormous burdens on patients countries. However, access to essential medicines remains inadequate in many low-income This study evaluated medications' availability, price, affordability for these conditions. A cross-sectional was conducted at health facilities the South Wollo zone 2022. Following World Health Organization (WHO)/Health Action International (HAI) guidelines, 34 were across 60 medicine outlets. Data collected using a standardized tool adapted from WHO/HAI. Availability measured by percentage of where stock. Prices reported as median prices price ratios (MPR). Affordability assessed based number days' wages required lowest-paid government workers cover full course therapy. The availability lowest-priced generic (LPG) diabetes public sector 24.4% 28.7%, respectively. In private pharmacies, 26.3% 21% medicines. Median LPG higher pharmacies than facilities, with 81.81% showing statistically significant difference (p < 0.05). (5, 71.43%) 83.33%) exceeded reference price. None affordable either setting. revealed very low financial burden patients. Therefore, should improve regulate their prices.
