This study aims to assess awareness MRONJ among practitioners Mumbai. descriptive cross-sectional utilized web-based questionnaire comprising 21 questions distributed postgraduate students at colleges, hospitals, private practices A total 403 dentists participated survey, with 85% familiar condition. significantly (p < 0.05) higher proportion clinicians over 20 years experience those specializing oral maxillofacial surgery were aware indications for bisphosphonate drugs. About 53% surgeons 57.7% participants more than that antiangiogenic drugs are used breast cancer treatment. However, their use lung was only 21%. Although term MRONJ, affecting disease, well its clinical radiographic presentations, inadequate. Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a multifactorial condition defined as an adverse drug reaction that results in progressive jawbone destruction and necrosis individuals treated with certain medications, occurring without history prior radiotherapy. These drugs are mainly bisphosphonates, denosumab, other bone-modifying agents, anti-angiogenic agents such anti-endothelial growth factor, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, proteins classified mammalian targets rapamycin. The diagnosis MRONJ based on clinical (exposed jawbone, fistula pus, hyperplasia mucosa overlying necrotic bone tissue) radiological evaluation. We report four cases evidence unrelated to use antiresorptive or agents. In two instances, histological microbiological was also found (high concentration Actinomyces, microbe most commonly oral sites affected by MRONJ). atypical reported highlight possibility other, previously undocumented, may contribute development ONJ

Background/Objectives: Osteoporosis is a common general disease that mostly affects the skeletal system, including jawbone. There link between systemic and mandibular osteoporosis. This study aimed at assessing association (lumbar spine L1–L4, femoral neck, total hip) bone mineral density (BMD) mandible BMD sites in Romanian postmenopausal females. Methods: A of 97 menopausal patients were studied, 62 with osteoporosis 35 females no For each patient, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) assessments mandible, proximal femur, hip, lumbar (L1–L4) performed. Mandibular measurements performed using distal forearm software, followed by manual analysis after contour was defined case. Results: Comparing control groups, there significant differences examined location. The (1.125 ± 0.181506 g/cm2) group considerably smaller than (1.35497 0.244397 g/cm2). Correlations different significant: neck (r = 0.738, p < 0.0001), hip 0.735, 0.506, 0.891, 0.482, 0.466, 0.0001). Conclusions: correlations spine, BMD, suggesting density. locations may help predict probability
