Background: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become a serious global challenge in the 21st century. Poultry, including turkeys, are vital source of animal-derived protein worldwide. Commensal bacterial strains poultry can act as reservoirs for AMR, making monitoring them crucial both veterinary and public health. Enterococcus species emerging pathogens, particularly severe nosocomial infections. Methods: This study aimed to assess profiles commensal isolated (n = 470) from large-scale turkey flocks Hungary. From each animal, two swab samples were collected: one oropharyngeal region near tracheal entrance cloaca. The subsequently processed, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined following Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines. tested antibiotics included amoxicillin, amoxicillin–clavulanic acid, imipenem, neomycin, doxycycline, florfenicol, tylosin, enrofloxacin, potentiated sulfonamide, vancomycin, ceftriaxone, spectinomycin, tiamulin, lincomycin, colistin. dilution range MIC determination set between 512 0.001 µg/mL. Results: Resistance first-line treatment infections, low (11.1%). However, high levels observed tylosin (62.6%), florfenicol (51.1%), doxycycline (48.7%), enrofloxacin (45.5%). Notably, vancomycin reached 15.5%, finding consistent with trends. Compared human-derived data, aminopenicillins significantly lower isolates, while neomycin comparable those human E. faecalis strains. Conclusions: findings underscore necessity continuous surveillance AMR trends production. While amoxicillin remains an effective treatment, presence multidrug-resistant vancomycin-resistant isolates raises concerns regarding potential dissemination genes. Future studies should incorporate next-generation sequencing elucidate genetic mechanisms underlying resistance. Additionally, integrating antibiotic usage data farms may provide further insights into dynamics.
