The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) in social sciences research introduces both transformative potential and critical ethical dilemmas. This study examines the role researchers as either gatekeepers or pioneers AI-driven change. Through a bibliometric analysis 464 records from Web Science Core Collection, we identify key themes AI discourse using VOSviewer Version 1.6.20. findings highlight dominant concerns, including governance, bias, transparency, fairness, emphasizing need for interdisciplinary collaborations responsible frameworks. While offers efficiency scalability research, unresolved issues related to algorithmic public trust persist. overlay visualization underscores emerging trends such generative AI, policy-driven accountability calls shift passive oversight proactive stewardship science research.
