This study takes a multidisciplinary approach, drawing from sociology, psychology, and psychiatry to explore binge eating disorder (BED) related disorders, such as anorexia nervosa bulimia nervosa. It highlights how the sociocultural ideal of thinness increases body image dissatisfaction, particularly in lower socioeconomic groups, leading maladaptive behaviors like binge-eating episodes purging. The also examines psychodynamic factors BED, including neuroendocrine dysregulation, distortions, compulsive dieting, which may serve coping strategies for stress. Therapeutic approaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Cognitive-Affective (ICAT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT) are reviewed, alongside pharmacological treatments emerging neuromodulatory techniques Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
