Mobile Phone Addiction, Self‐Control, Mind Wandering, and Cognitive Failure in Chinese Adolescents: A Network Analysis and a Chain Mediation Model

ABSTRACT Mobile phone addiction (MPA) has become a prevalent issue among adolescents, which is closely associated with cognitive failure. The present study seeks to explore the network structure of association between MPA and failure adolescents by analysis, as well mediating roles self‐control mind wandering chain mediation techniques. Data were collected from 1036 Chinese using self‐report measures. Results based on bridge strength, showed that “Distractibility” “Productivity Loss” at domain level, two nodes one node (i.e., “Do you daydream when ought be listening something?”, start doing thing get distracted into something else (unintentionally)?”, “You find yourself engaged mobile for longer period time than intended.”) item level indicators analysis demonstrated relation was mediated separately sequentially. These findings highlight importance enhancing adolescents’ in reducing negative impact functioning.
