The amount of non-revenue water, mostly due to leakage, is around 126 billion cubic meters annually worldwide. A more efficient wastewater management strategy would use a parametric design for on-demand, customized pipe fittings, following the principles distributed manufacturing. To fulfill this need, study introduces an open-source 3D-printable easy-connect fitting that offers compatibility with different dimensions and materials pipes available on market. Custom fittings were 3D printed using RepRap-class fused filament printer, polylactic acid (PLA), polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) as feedstocks validation. 3D-printed connectors underwent hydrostatic water pressure tests ensure they met standards residential, agricultural, renewable energy production applications. All parts passed numerous tests. PETG couplings can tolerate up 4.551 ± 0.138 MPa pressure, which eight times greater than highest standard in residential sector. Based economic analysis, cost printing coupling from three seventeen lower purchasing commercially similar size. new demonstrate particular potential developing countries remote areas.

Satellite imagery has enabled widespread monitoring of algae in larger water bodies, however until recently, the spatial resolution available sensors not been sufficient to apply this smaller lakes. Therefore, study investigated a new dataset high-resolution metre-scale for phytoplankton at and temporal scales previously impossible with satellite data. Specifically, Planet SuperDoves constellation was used monitor small (0.069 km 2 ), eutrophic lake from 2021 2024. Several chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) algorithms were tested on both Sentinel-2 data against situ measurements. Additionally, suitability citizen science as validation tool algal bloom by comparing reports blooms five bodies central Scotland corresponding Chl-a images. successfully retrieved using Ocean Colour 3 algorithm ( R = 0.64, root mean squared error (RMSE) 0.93 g L −1 which outperformed best performing 0.61, RMSE 1.01 ).
