Background: Women report higher rates of trauma-related disorders compared to men. With women being disproportionately impacted by the consequences natural hazards, this gender disparity may increase in their aftermath.Objective: This meta-analysis aimed at quantifying gaps mental disorder prevalence following considering both recent and long-term aftermath developmental status affected countries, type hazard.Method: A systematic search was conducted MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Web Science February 2024. Abstract Aims Although natural hazards (e.g., tropical cyclones, earthquakes) disproportionately affect developing countries, most research on their mental health impact has been conducted in high-income countries. We aimed to summarize prevalences of disorders Global South populations (classified according the United Nations Human Development Index) affected by hazards. Methods To identify eligible studies for this meta-analysis, we searched MEDLINE, PsycINFO and Web Science up February 13, 2024, observational with a cross-sectional or longitudinal design that reported at least 100 adult survivors population assessed validated instrument 1 month after onset hazard.
