Background: Valid and generalizable data on the clinical features surgical strategies for retroperitoneal liposarcoma (LPS) involving kidney capsule remain scarce. This study aimed to investigate characteristics, morbidity, mortality, long-term survival of patients with LPS capsule. Methods: The authors analyzed a prospectively maintained database who underwent resection between 2015 2020. were categorized into or no groups based presence absence involvement. A kidney-sparing strategy was developed. primary outcome measure overall (OS). cumulative event probability curve estimated using Kaplan–Meier, differences Log-Rank. Results: population consisted 128 patients—54 74 without Of these patients, 70 female (54.7%) 58 male (45.3%), median age 55. follow-up duration 35 months. Postoperative length hospital stay, ICU OS, recurrence-free (RFS) did not differ significantly groups. Eleven developed postoperative acute injury (AKI), one patient required dialysis during period. In multivariable logistic regression analysis, only nephrectomy independently associated AKI. Subgroup analysis involvement showed that improve OS RFS but decreased glomerular filtration rate. Conclusion: Nephrectomy an increased risk AKI after resection. achieved optimal outcomes.
