Tidal lowland is an area with significant potential for fisheries development, especially in aquaculture. Abundant water supply and land availability provide great opportunities cultivating aquaculture commodities such as fish, shrimp, crab. However, effective quality management poses a challenge, necessitating comprehensive evaluation based on biological, physical, chemical assessment. Among the crucial parameters influencing fertility, presence of plankton stands out. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate fertility by identifying species, abundance, diversity, dominancy, milkfish ponds at Banyuasin, South Sumatra. The results showed that abundance phytoplankton zooplankton ranged from 1030-1791 individual L-1 103-461 L-1, respectively. Furthermore, Bacillariaceae was recorded be highest specie, followed Cyanophyta, Chlorophyta, Protozoa, Rotifer, Arthropoda. range diversity index varied between 1 2.6, while density dominance indices 0.9 1, well 0.1 0.8, classification pond's fell within mesotrophic category, signifying moderate level. In conclusion, maintained optimum range, thereby supporting growth milkfish. Meanwhile, only ammonia below stipulated PP No. 22 2021 suggested. Keywords:bioindicatormilkfishplanktontidal lowlandwater
