ABSTRACT By incorporating scandium oxide (Sc 2 O 3 ) powder into a PVA film, Sc saturable absorber (SA) was successfully developed, boasting modulation depth of 25%. When integrated ring erbium‐doped fiber laser, the ‐SA facilitated production mode‐locked dark pulses featuring multi‐wavelength emission, leveraging its absorbing ability along with nonlinear properties inherent in thin film and long fiber. Mode‐locking operation achieved within pumping range 209.3–239.8 mW, resulting peak pulse energy 0.71 nJ. Operating at 1597.8 nm, laser demonstrated repetition rate 10.42 MHz width 23 ns. Domain‐wall L‐band region, achieving relative stability signal‐to‐noise ratio 55.6 dB, utilizing an 8‐meter‐long active These findings underscore promising potential to be used pulsed systems, particularly due exceptional optical properties.

In this paper, we report the use of CoTe2 nanosheet polyvinyl alcohol composites as saturable absorbers for pulse generation in erbium-doped fiber lasers. The absorption characteristics nanosheets have been investigated, and their modulation depth saturation intensity are 3.64% 1.25 MW/cm2, respectively. By controlling pump power polarization controller, conversion from dark–bright–dark pulses to h-shaped rains can be achieved laser. This mode-locked state transition occurs because nonlinear effect absorber increases increases. is first time that operation 1.5 μm range has a laser using nanosheet-based absorber, generated by real absorber. Our experimental results show great potential application ultrafast photonics.

The various properties of In2Ge2Te6, a ternary layered chemical belonging to the hexagermanate family, have been little investigated so far. Herein, we experimentally structure and optical In2Ge2Te6 its application in pulsed fiber laser. Few-layered nanosheets with thickness less than 8 nm successfully prepared by liquid exfoliation method. In C-band, has nonlinear saturable absorption property, it varies polarization state. modulation depths are 2.39 2.49% under two vertical states laser, respectively. Saturable absorber fabricated can be applied an Er-doped This laser output stable bright pulses bright–bright–dark pulses. study suggests that In2Ge2Te6-based devices could developed as efficient ultrafast photonics candidates.

A D-shaped fiber is coated with a new two-dimensional nanomaterial, violet phosphorus (VP), to create saturable absorber (SA) modulation depth of 3.68%. Subsequently, the SA inserted into laser, enabling successful generation dark solitons and bright–dark soliton pairs through adjustment polarization state within cavity. Through further study, mode-locked pulses are achieved, proving existence polarization-locked vector solitons. The results indicate that VP can be used as polarization-independent SA.
