We report a trace gas sensing technique of cavity-enhanced light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy (CE-LITES) with Fabry–Pérot (F-P) optical cavity and high-quality-factor resonant quartz tuning fork (QTF). Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) locking method is used to lock the laser cavity. With only short 9-cm (finesse, ∼1283) tiny commercially available standard QTF ( Q -factor, ∼38910), CE-LITES sensor for acetylene detection was developed demonstrate this technique, achieving minimum limit (MDL) 7.5 parts-per-billion (ppb) 216-s integration time normalized noise equivalent absorption (NNEA) coefficient as low 1.91 × 10 −10 cm −1 ·W·Hz −1/2 . The bears promising potential sensitive accurate measurement that needed studying gas-phase analyte.
