High-power ultrafast laser amplification based on a non-polarization maintaining fiber chirped pulse amplifier is demonstrated. The active polarization control technology the root-mean-square propagation (RMS-prop) algorithm employed to guarantee linearly polarized output from system. A maximum power of 402.3 W at repetition rate 80 MHz realized with extinction ratio (PER) > 11.4 dB. Tm 3+ -doped fluorotellurite fibers (TDFTFs) are fabricated by using a rod-in-tube method. A 2.1 m long TDFTF is used as the gain medium, in which both ends of connected to short piece silica fiber direct fusion splicing. By inserting above and tunable optical bandpass filter into ring cavity employing 1400/1570 nm dual-wavelength pumping technique, lasing from 1460 1526 obtained, almost covers whole S-band. To best our knowledge, this first report laser with range covering Furthermore, removing cavity, free-running multi-wavelength lasers at 1500 1901 achieved. Our results show that TDFTFs promising media for constructing S-band lasers.
