Abstract Structured light is a widely used 3D imaging method with drawback that it typically requires long baseline length between the laser projector and camera sensor, which hinders its utilization in space-constrained scenarios. On other hand, application of passive methods, such as depth from depth-dependent point spread functions (PSFs), impeded by challenge measuring textureless scenes. Here, we combine advantages both structured PSFs propose baseline-free system. A metasurface designed to project dot array encode information double-helix pattern each simultaneously. Combined straightforward fast algorithm, demonstrate accurate cloud acquisition for various real-world scenarios including multiple cardboard boxes living human face. Such technique may find broad range areas consumer electronics precision metrology.
